How we rank hotels
Transparency matters. Here’s exactly how we decide which hotels to feature and in what order.
What we measure
- Price. We pull live rates from multiple booking sites and show the lowest available, so a hotel’s value is judged on what you’d actually pay.
- Guest reviews. We weigh verified guest scores and the number of reviews, so a 9.2 from 2,000 guests counts more than a 9.8 from 12.
- Location. Proximity to the things travellers come for — the beach, the old town, transport — and the character of each neighbourhood.
- Value for money. The balance of the above within each budget band (cheap, mid-range, luxury), so every type of traveller gets a fair pick.
What does NOT affect rankings
Commission does not influence our order or selection. A hotel cannot pay to rank higher, and we don’t accept payment for placement. Our affiliate relationships are disclosed in our affiliate disclosure.
How prices are sourced
Live prices and availability are provided by our booking partners and can change at any time; the final price is always confirmed on the partner’s site at checkout. Indicative figures (such as “average price per night”) are based on the rates we observe and are meant as a guide, not a quote.
Keeping it current
Prices update continuously, and we revisit our destination guides regularly to keep neighbourhood advice, hotel selections and seasonal tips accurate.
